inclusive yoga for all bodies
As someone who navigates through this life in a larger body that has multiple chronic pain and chronic illness issues, it's important to me to have a yoga practice that's appropriate and accommodating for my body and all of its quirky needs. Nobody knows what I need for my own body better than I.
After spending many years in many different classes and yoga studios across Central Arkansas, I now practice yoga solely from the comfort of my own home. Whether it's on the floor of my bedroom, living room, in the middle of my yard in the sunshine, or on my back deck surrounded by my three pups -- my yoga practice is sacred, cherished, and my own.
It's my passion as a yogi and yoga teacher to provide accessible yoga to others with bodies like mine -- that are hurting, aching, larger, or that don't fit your stereotpyical societal expectation of the Western tall, skinny, and aesthetically fit yogi.
It is my honor to now offer Inclusive Yoga one-on-one private sessions to anyone and everyone looking to build their own yoga practice from the comfort and safety of their own home.
If you can breathe, you can do yoga.
"I can't practice yoga if I weigh 400 pounds."
"I have to go to a yoga studio to learn yoga."
"My illness means I cannot practice yoga."
"My body won't move that way. I'm not flexible."
Limiting beliefs and Western society have defined what a yogi looks like for entirely too long: a tall, skinny White woman.
Throw that idea and image away. Ball it up, rip it up, and toss it into the trashcan.
I'm here to tell you that anyone and everyone can practice yoga.
I repeat: anyone and everyone can practice yoga. Even you!
It is my passion and honor to hold space for fat bodies. Bodies with disabilities. Bodies with aches and pains. Bodies with limitations. Bodies with illnesses. Bodies with differences. Bodies that society defines as "less than" and "not good enough."
You are capable of having a strong, appropriate, and powerful yoga practice. Let me guide you, teach you, and show you how.
