So many things in our world right now feel scary, heavy, and uncertain. From the sociopolitical climate here in the U.S. ā where basic human rights are under attack ā to global conflicts, humanitarian crises, climate disasters, rising costs of living, and communities being targeted for simply existing⦠itās š š”š¤š©.ā£

And if your nervous system feels on edge? If your body is tired, your emotions feel tender, or youāre having a hard time doing ānormal lifeā tasks?ā£
ā£
Thatās not dysfunction. Thatās not a disorder. Thatās your whole being trying to survive in the face of a world that often feels like itās burning.ā£

To sit here and type out a post that pathologizes your feelings right now would be deeply disingenuous. And honestly? If youāre working with a therapist whoās labeling your responses as problematic without naming the very real contexts behind them ā then thatās not trauma-informed care. Thatās harm.ā£
ā£
You deserve safe spaces. Spaces that validate your grief, your rage, your confusion, your overwhelm. Spaces that donāt jump to diagnoses before they sit with the why behind your pain.ā£
ā£
Spaces that listen first, and pathologize⦠never, or at the very least, as a last resort and with your full consent.ā£
ā£
You are not broken.ā£
You are not overreacting.ā£
You are not alone.ā£
ā£
And you donāt have to carry this alone, either. Whether in community, in therapy, or simply by speaking the truth of your experience out loud ā healing starts with being witnessed.ā£
ā£
Iām here. Others are here. Keep reaching.ā£
