GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy offers an opportunity to heal in community, especially during times when the world feels heavy, unstable, or overwhelming. This weekly space is designed for Arkansans who are feeling the emotional toll of our current political climate and want a steady place to land, breathe, and reconnect with others who understand what they’re carrying.

Group work can help reduce isolation, increase emotional regulation, and create a sense of shared strength — all within a supportive, therapist-guided environment.

HOLDING LIGHT IN A POLITICAL HELLSCAPE:

A WEEKLY GROUP THERAPY SPACE

offered weekly, beginning Friday, February 7th
5:00 - 6:15 p.m. CST

This weekly therapy group was created in response to the very real emotional weight so many Arkansans are carrying right now. Our political climate has become a constant source of fear, grief, anger, and overwhelm, and many people feel alone in navigating the uncertainty of it all. This group offers a steady place to land — a space to breathe, process, and reconnect with others who understand what it feels like to live in this moment.

The purpose of this group is to provide a therapist and group-led environment where participants can explore the emotional impact of political instability while developing tools to support their nervous systems, their relationships, and their well-being. Instead of holding these experiences alone or trying to push them down, group therapy allows us to witness and be witnessed, creating a sense of community and shared resilience.

During our time together, we will explore topics such as political anxiety, identity-based fear, collective grief, advocacy fatigue, hopelessness, anger, and the sense of instability many people are struggling with. Each session will include grounding and regulation practices, therapist-guided discussion, and opportunities to reflect on how these stressors are showing up in your daily life. This space invites honesty without judgment, emotion without shame, and connection without pressure.

The goal is not to “fix” the political reality we’re living in — but to help you find steadiness, clarity, and community as you move through it. Here, you do not have to hold any of it by yourself.

50% of ALL group therapy proceeds will be donated to a different cause each week, such as Intransitive, Migra Watch of Central Arkansas, Arkansas Queer Collective, & more.

100% TELEHEALTH-BASED SESSIONS

All counseling and therapy sessions are offered exclusively through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. This means that therapy can happen wherever you feel most safe and at ease — whether that’s from the comfort of your home, a private office, or even your car parked somewhere peaceful. As long as you’re physically located within the state of Arkansas at the time of your session, we can work together.

Telehealth removes common barriers to mental health care — like long drives, time off work, transportation issues, or mobility concerns — and replaces them with accessibility, flexibility, and privacy. You don’t need to add more stress just to seek support. With telehealth, therapy comes to you.

Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity, grief, or personal growth, telehealth allows us to create a consistent, grounded space for your healing — wherever you are. You deserve support that meets you with care, wherever life finds you.

SLIDING SCALE SUPPORT FOR SUSTAINABLE CARE

Mental health care should be accessible, supportive, and free of unnecessary barriers. While I do not accept insurance at this time, I offer a self-pay structure with flexible options that honor a range of financial circumstances.

✨ SLIDING SCALE OPTIONS

Group therapy sessions are offered in 75-minute weekly formats to support the group as a whole, and allow time for grounding, processing, and connection.

To help keep this space accessible, I use a three-tier sliding scale. These rates are fixed tiers, and we’ll discuss which option best fits your current financial situation during your consultation.

TIER 1 | Supported Rate | $35

For individuals experiencing financial strain, underemployment, unemployment, or systemic barriers that make standard pricing difficult. This tier is designed to keep group therapy accessible for those who need it most.

TIER 2 | Standard Rate | $45

For individuals with stable income who can generally meet their needs without significant strain. This tier reflects the true cost of offering ongoing group therapy and supports the sustainability of the service.

TIER 3 | Supportive Rate | $55

For individuals with financial stability or access to greater resources who wish to support community care. Paying at this tier helps offset lower-cost access for others and increases overall group accessibility.

You're never just a number here. Whether you're navigating grief, identity exploration, anxiety, or trauma, I’m committed to creating a therapeutic space that’s affirming, grounded, and truly within reach.

PURPOSE OF GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy offers a unique kind of healing that unfolds through shared experience — and in times like these, that shared experience matters more than ever. As our political landscape grows more volatile, threatening, and emotionally overwhelming, many people are carrying fear, grief, anger, and uncertainty in silence. This group was created to interrupt that isolation. Instead of holding everything alone, you’ll be in community with others who understand the emotional toll of living through this current reality without needing long explanations or justification.

In this therapist-led space, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • explore your thoughts, fears, and emotional responses in a supportive, structured environment

  • deepen your self-awareness through both speaking and listening

  • practice communication skills, boundaries, and emotional expression around politically charged stress

  • learn grounding and regulation tools alongside others who are navigating the same collective distress

  • experience connection, community, and shared humanity in a time that often feels divisive and unsafe

  • reduce the loneliness and hypervigilance that can accompany political trauma and identity-based fear

Groups create a space where each person’s internal experience becomes a shared resource — a place where your reactions make sense, where your emotions are valid, and where you don’t have to minimize or hide the truth of what you’re feeling. The reflections and support from others often lead to a kind of growth that looks and feels different from individual therapy: not better, but uniquely powerful and sometimes deeply relieving.

This group helps clients rebuild relational trust, feel less alone, and reconnect with parts of themselves that may feel numbed, muted, or overwhelmed by our current political climate. With the guidance of a therapist, the group becomes a steady, grounding place to process what’s happening, learn new tools, and move toward a more anchored and empowered sense of self — even in the midst of a political hellscape.
